The Gavas Caribbean Band

The Evolution of SRU Residence Life

Slippery Rock University started out in 1889 as the Slippery Rock Normal School.  Over the years, many of the buildings have changed.  There have been a variety of different residence halls around the campus.  Some still stand empty today; some are still used for student housing; some have been converted to classrooms; many are brand new.  The campus has certainly evolved with the times.

Homecoming Festivities

Slippery Rock University celebrated Homecoming this past weekend.  One of the popular events of the weekend was the parade that followed Grove City Road and Main Street, Slippery Rock.  Participants of the parade included local organizations around the community, such as police departments and fire departments among others.  Various organizations on campus were involved as well and showcased creatively decorated floats to the Blockbuster theme.  It was a fun event for the morning!
